    Manuela, or MP, joined the team in 2023 as the steward of the Microsoft Alumni Network. Her commitment is to further strengthen the bonds that tie us together and provide access to the latest Microsoft technology. She believes we are not just a network; we are a force driving innovation, collaboration, and connections. MP managed global marketing at Microsoft from 2006-11, supporting initiatives including Windows Embedded Automotive and Ford SYNC, earning the Microsoft Gold Star Award. After Microsoft, she led business strategy & marketing at Elektrobit and founded Designated Driver. Originally from Romania, MP is an avid mountaineer with AIARE certification.

She’s been with Microsoft in one way or another for 30+ years, first “agency-side” with Ogilvy & Mather in the days of Windows 95, then as an FTE marketing emerging technologies such as BackOffice, Windows Media, and Tablet PC, and most recently as a consultant. Now, Susan is thrilled to help support, connect, and grow the thriving alumni community. Originally from the Northeast, she thanks Microsoft for bringing her to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where she enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains and rowing on the local waters.

    Chief Technology Officer

    Diana joined the Microsoft Alumni Network team in 2023 and has 30 years’ experience in the computer software industry. From 1999 to 2012 she was at Microsoft in the Developer Division and Windows Phone teams working in program management on the Visual C++, Enterprise Tools, Visual Studio Team System TFS (now Azure DevOps) and Windows Phone UI teams. Diana later joined Tableau when it was a 350-person startup, where she helped scale up development and release processes as the company grew at a rapid pace, leading up to the acquisition by Salesforce in 2019. Diana volunteers with the IGNITE Worldwide and Upnotch organizations to help support women in STEM.

He is responsible for managing the daily system processes of the organization and helping ensure the platform is up-to-date and members of the alumni community have access to their wide range of benefits. Braedon graduated from the Washington Technology University with a bachelor's degree in information security. In his spare time, he enjoys activities like snowboarding, reading business journals and watching the Seattle Seahawks.

She’s thrilled to be helping Microsoft alumni connect, learn, and tell stories of the amazing things they’ve gone on to do “beyond the blue badge,” Becky is an Iowa native and a theater geek who is proud to serve on the board of Book-It Repertory Theatre in Seattle.

    Dawn Trudeau spent over 20 years in the software industry and 14 years at Microsoft, where she led divisions in database and development tools as well as consumer products. For the past 10+ years, she has leveraged her skills to work with emerging nonprofits and build organizational capacity and sustainability. Dawn is passionately involved in women’s basketball, acting as a chairperson of the Women’s Basketball Club of Seattle, Seattle Storm Foundation, and Force 10 Hoops LLC. She also chairs the Board of the Economic Opportunity Institute, is a member of the University of Washington Women's Center Advisory Board and serves on the Board of Social Venture Partners International.

    Dawn Trudeau

    Vice Chairwoman

    Dawn Trudeau spent over 20 years in the software industry and 14 years at Microsoft, where she led divisions in database and development tools as well as consumer products. For the past 10+ years, she has leveraged her skills to work with emerging nonprofits and build organizational capacity and sustainability. Dawn is passionately involved in women’s basketball, acting as a chairperson of the Women’s Basketball Club of Seattle, Seattle Storm Foundation, and Force 10 Hoops LLC. She also chairs the Board of the Economic Opportunity Institute, is a member of the University of Washington Women's Center Advisory Board and serves on the Board of Social Venture Partners International.

With a strong desire to learn and see the world, he set off for his first trip beyond the borders of Montana in 1991 after graduating from Montana State University.     Marylou Brannan

    Board Secretary

    Marylou’s experience and expertise includes leadership roles in marketing, event and project management, technology, and the nonprofit sector. She began her career in advertising, which was followed by 11 years in marketing at Microsoft. After taking a short break to “launch” two children and focus on nonprofit work, Marylou returned to the technology industry to lead the Microsoft Alumni Network and Foundation from 2010 – 2018.     Akhtar was Senior Director of Citizenship and Public Affairs for Microsoft, where he led its global philanthropic efforts, global community investment and employee programs.     Akhtar Badshah, PhD

    Akhtar was Senior Director of Citizenship and Public Affairs for Microsoft, where he led its global philanthropic efforts, global community investment and employee programs. Akhtar also managed Microsoft YouthSpark and the Unlimited Potential Community Technology Skills Program (CTSP). Prior to joining Microsoft, Akhtar was the CEO and President of Digital Partners Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to leverage the digital economy to benefit the poor. An active advocate for the global community, Akhtar now serves as a board member of Telecentre.org and, the Council on Foundations.

    Rowland is CEO of The HMC Company. Prior to consulting, he was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Microsoft, where he created and executed the company's highly- acclaimed branding strategy, which included the market introduction of Microsoft's most popular product—a graphical interface that he named "Windows." Several books published on the history of Microsoft document the strategies executed that led to the success of the Microsoft and Windows brands. Rowland dedicates a portion of his time and talent to connect the Alumni Network with strategic partners that help drive business and philanthropy efforts.

    Rowland is CEO of The HMC Company. Prior to consulting, he was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Microsoft, where he created and executed the company's highly- acclaimed branding strategy, which included the market introduction of Microsoft's most popular product—a graphical interface that he named "Windows." Several books published on the history of Microsoft document the strategies executed that led to the success of the Microsoft and Windows brands. Rowland dedicates a portion of his time and talent to connect the Alumni Network with strategic partners that help drive business and philanthropy efforts.

The Alumni Network benefits have helped Keith thrive as a freelance volunteer, and he's excited to expand that value for other alumni by leading the New England Club.

As her kids grew to be more independent, Stacy developed the next phase of her career in real estate and interior design. At the start of 2024 she began reaching out to her network and getting connected again. She held various roles during her 18-year tenure with the company and was a leader in Public Sector partner marketing when she decided to leave in 2008 to dedicate time to her family.     At Microsoft from 2019-2013, Linda Persen was an enterprise sales manager partnering with industry customers to help them innovate and grow their business. She is currently the regional sales manager for the Nordics for Alludo. Her experience demonstrates a broad understanding of IT systems and technologies, as well as a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results to her clients. Linda is based in Sweden and is excited to be the Alumni Network’s Club Lead in the region and connect people, share experiences, and make a difference together.
